Hello!

I am a non-binary (she/him) PhD student in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Connecticut, as well as an author, conservationist, and apprentice falconer. By day I study color evolution and salamander diversity in the lab of Dr. Elizabeth Jockusch. By night I mostly sleep, but sometimes I write; my speculative fiction spans second-world fantasy to hard science-fiction to cli-fi to urban cryptids — some stories have even been adapted for radio and short film! My nonfiction resume includes narrative stories about research and a recurring "pop science" series called FUTURES with The Starset Society. I am a proud member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA).

Prior to moving to Connecticut, I worked as a lab tech and then Assistant Collection Manager of Entomology at the University of Michigan's zoological collections; I even went quasi-viral for my scientific illustrations of our specimens! Also from UMich, I graduated with my Bachelor's in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (and a minor in Anthrobiology).
